DOGS
DHPP (4 IN 1)
Distemper
Contagious, often fatal virus that affects
the respiratory, gastrointestinal and nervous systems. The virus generally spreads as an air-borne
infection and vaccination is the only effective control.
Hepatitis
Affects the liver and cells lining the
blood vessels causing high fever, swelling and hemorrhage. Very serious in puppies and
aged dogs.
Parainfluenza
Canine cough. Spreads via contact or
air-borne transmission. Attacks respiratory system.
Parvovirus
Viral infection spread by contact with infected body
secretions. Strikes quickly, causing
damage to the lining of the gastrointestinal tract and can cause death within
48 hours.
CORONAVIRUS
Contagious viral infection of the
gastrointestinal tract. Symptoms
include vomiting, diarrhea, high fever and dehydration.
RABIES
Fatal virus infection of the central
nervous system that affects mammals, including humans. Spread through the saliva of the rabid animal.. Rabies vaccinations are required in California at age 4 months or older.
CATS
FVRCP (4 IN 1)
Distemper
Also called Feline Panleukpoenia. Contagious viral disease. Spread through air or contact with infected
animals. Symptoms can be any or all of
the following:Â weight loss, depression,
dehydration, loss of appetite, vomiting and diarrhea.
Upper Respiratory
Disease
Highly contagious,. Signs include sneezing, eye discharge, fever
and mouth ulcers. Vaccinations protect
against CALICIVIRUS, PNEUMONITIS and RINOTRACHEITIS.
FELV (Feline
Leukemia)
A leading cause of feline death. Results in a variety of problems: decreased resistance to infection, chronic anemia,
leukemia and lymph sarcoma. Spread
through contact with
infected blood or saliva.
RABIES
Causes fatal viral infection unless
vaccinated. It is recommended
that first time puppies and kittens have a routine check-up by the veterinarian
before the series of shots. This is not
compulsory.
