The Golden State Humane Society, a non-profit corporation established
in 1972 is dedicated to the following purposes:
To operate an Animal
Birth Control Center program at both our Centers. This is our primary
purpose since, in this country, over population is the basic cause of
cruelty to domestic animals.
To operate two Health
Maintenance Clinics for animals. At both Centers, clients can bring their
pets for shots and other veterinary care. If we were not available to
provide these low-cost services, many of our clients could not afford
to maintain essential health care for their pets.
To keep in touch
with our membership through a quarterly NEWSLETTER. Through this publication
we keep the members informed of our on-going programs and activities,
bringing to their attention legislative bills that have to do with animal
welfare. We then urge members to write or contact their state or federal
legislators to express their concern and to solicit support
for animal rights.
Golden State Humane Society is a private corporation; consequently, these
purposes are served on behalf of animals with no funds from any federal,
state, county or city governments.
